A well-established and growing miscellaneous fabricator/erector is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to oversee projects from award through closeout. This role is ideal for a driven construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background managing misc. metals fabrication, erection, and field coordination.
The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle—ensuring schedules, budgets, communication, and execution remain aligned while delivering successful outcomes for clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage steel projects from contract award through final closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
- Coordinate with fabrication teams, detailers, field superintendents, subcontractors, and clients
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong customer relationships throughout execution
- Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documents
- Monitor project progress, manpower planning, logistics, quality, and safety performance
- Manage procurement activities and support subcontractor/vendor negotiations
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively to maintain schedule and profitability
- Oversee project documentation, billing support, and final turnover
- 9+ years of experience managing misc. metals fabrication and/or erection projects
- Strong understanding of steel construction methods, sequencing, and field operations
- Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience with scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and change management
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with commercial, industrial, or manufacturing steel projects
- Familiarity with AISC standards and structural steel industry best practices
- Previous experience working for a steel fabricator and/or erector
- Exposure to detailing, fabrication workflows, or shop coordination is a plus
- $100,000–$145,000 DOE
