Mechanical and plumbing contractors across Greater Boston are hiring estimators for commercial and institutional work. You do the takeoff, you build the number, and you stay with it through the handoff so the job gets built the way you priced it. BELMONT Search is a construction executive search firm. We recruit at the operating level for mechanical, plumbing and fire protection contractors across New England.
Five years or more estimating mechanical, plumbing or fire protection work. Labs, hospitals and institutional projects are where most of this work sits right now, and that experience moves you up the list. Base is $110,000 to $150,000.
- Plan and spec and design build pricing, $1M packages and up
- Takeoff, vendor and subcontractor quotes, bid day execution
- Scope review and the questions that surface a bad spec early
- Handoff to project management and the field
- Cost history kept so the next bid is sharper than the last
