We are currently partnered with one of New England's premier General Contractors in their search for a Senior Estimator to join a growing preconstruction team focused on Public and Municipal construction throughout Greater Boston and New England.
This is an opportunity to join a highly respected builder with more than a century of experience delivering complex construction projects across the region. The firm continues to expand its public-sector portfolio and is looking to add an experienced estimator who can take ownership of major pursuits while working alongside an established preconstruction and operations team.
The Senior Estimator will play a key role in developing estimates from early conceptual budgeting through final bid, with a particular focus on public, municipal, K-12, institutional, and other competitively bid construction projects.

Projects regularly involve complex phasing, occupied environments, detailed public procurement requirements, and coordination across architectural, structural, civil, and MEP scopes.
The OpportunityThis position offers significant ownership over the estimating process without requiring someone to step away from the technical side of the work.
The Senior Estimator will work closely with estimating leadership, operations, project executives, subcontractors, and clients to develop competitive and accurate bids while helping the company continue to expand its public-sector backlog.
Key responsibilities include:- Leading conceptual, schematic, GMP, and hard-bid estimates
- Preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing
- Developing subcontractor bid packages and scopes of work
- Soliciting, leveling, and evaluating subcontractor proposals
- Identifying scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and value-engineering opportunities
- Developing bid strategy for competitive public pursuits
- Coordinating closely with operations and project management teams
- Supporting junior estimators and contributing to estimating best practices
- Participating in bid reviews and final estimate presentations
- 8+ years of construction estimating experience
- Experience with Public, Municipal, K-12, Institutional, or Higher Education construction
- Strong understanding of competitive hard-bid and public procurement environments
- Experience managing estimates from early budgeting through final bid
- Strong subcontractor relationships throughout the Greater Boston market
- Experience with projects ranging from renovations to large-scale ground-up construction
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
