Graphic Designer – Retail & Visual Merchandising (Contract)

Hybrid in Boston | 6 month contract | Footwear & Apparel Industry

Our client is hiring a Graphic Designer to support the creative visual merchandising team for a global footwear and apparel brand. This role focuses on retail and wholesale in-store design, from concept through production, and plays a key part in shaping consumer-facing touchpoints across North America.

About the Role:

You’ll be designing in-store graphics, signage, and promotional materials for both brand-owned stores and retail partners. This includes creating print-ready files, adapting designs across fixtures and formats, and overseeing production to final delivery. The right candidate is both conceptual and detail-driven, with a strong sense of design trends, layout, and visual storytelling in a retail context.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design engaging retail graphics and signage for in-store environments across NA
• Translate creative concepts into scalable 2D and 3D visual solutions across formats
• Prepare final print files and packaging for vendor delivery, ensuring accuracy and brand compliance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet timelines and align on priorities
• Review dielines, specs, and proofs with a critical eye for detail and consistency
• Balance multiple projects, respond to quick turnarounds, and proactively problem-solve
• Maintain consistency with brand standards while tailoring designs for the North American market

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in retail/VM graphic design, ideally within footwear, apparel, or consumer goods
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Rhino, and Sketch Up or similar 3D tools
• Strong understanding of production, file prep, and print processes
• Skilled communicator who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments
• Experience working in tools like Asana a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related field

• Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in Boston, 2 days remote
• Contract role with immediate start
