Teaching Artist Assistant

Teaching Artist Assistants will support Musical Theatre faculty by providing rigorous and inclusive early‑level musical theatre training in dance, singing, song interpretation, and ensemble work to 12‑ to 14‑year‑old collaborators working towards a culminating public share.

• Preparing, managing, and handing out materials.
• Chaperoning and coaching small groups of students.
• Providing active support and role modeling in dance and choral classes as well as rehearsals.
• Organizing and facilitating Brown Bag Conversations about contemporary industry issues appropriate for a teen audience discussion.

• Experience with musical theatre dance styles (especially jazz) and song styles throughout the canon.
• Comfortable teaching pre‑teens and teens.
• Sight‑reading ability, beginning music theory competency, and basic piano skills for vocal practice.
• Experience in teaching pedagogy, working with pre‑teens and teens, or a strong interest in working with this specialized population in the future (preferred).
• Capacity to play a musical instrument (any) to accompany a performance is a plus.
• Songwriting/arranging skills are a plus.

Hourly rate: $17.51.
