Job Description
Bike to the Beach is a non‑profit, 501c3, that develops networks of support for the autism and disabilities community through collaborative partnerships with non‑profits, companies, and the community. Our signature fundraising events are cycling events from cities, and we host these events in a network of partners in 7 major markets around the country.
The Nation’s largest charity cycling series to support Autism and disabilities is looking for an energetic Event Coordinator to help execute our remaining Charity cycling events in July, September, and October.
Event Schedule- New England (Boston to Newport, RI):
September 17, 2022 - New York (NYC to Smith Point, LI):
September 24, 2022 - Houston (Houston to Galveston, TX):
October 15, 2022
- Work with existing event staff to plan, organize and execute 100, 50, and 25‑mile cycling events.
- Assist with transportation to the host city, arriving the Wednesday before each event.
- Help execute pre‑ride tasks such as picking up and dropping off equipment, marking the route, and hosting packet pick‑ups.
- Coordinate all aspects on ride day, including setting up and closing event locations, managing volunteers and staff, driving the route to support riders, and handling logistics such as vans and trucks.
- Support riders and volunteers throughout the event, ensuring smooth operations and a flawless experience.
- Bring positive energy and a problem‑solving mindset to a fast‑paced, teamwork‑driven environment.
- Availability to work four days (Wednesday – Saturday) for each event.
- Prior event experience; endurance event experience is a plus.
- Guest‑focused mindset: love of riders.
- Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem‑solving, and creative solution skills.
- First‑aid certification a plus.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds, including over uneven surfaces and stairs.
- Valid driver’s license and comfort driving a van or truck.
- Consulting contract: $1,250 per event plus event expenses.
- Full travel reimbursement, including hotel and travel to and from each event.
