Department Overview
GBH News is Boston’s only fully integrated local public media entity with Television, Radio, and Digital all working in one newsroom. Our daily goal is to go beyond the headlines, examine the deeper topics and themes, and add context and perspective to the news. WGBH 89.7 FM broadcasts local, national, and international news and talk shows all day from 5AM to 8PM.
GBH News team covers and produces local and national news including in-depth feature stories and interviews, covering a wide range of topics. Boston Public Radio, hosted by Jim Braude and Margery Eagan, is GBH’s midday talk show, featuring smart local conversation with leaders and thinkers shaping greater Boston: on‑air, online, and in‑person. GBH’s newest show, The Curiosity Desk, is hosted daily by Edgar
B. Herwick III, and features conversations, insights and profundities about the world around us. Together, the two shows encompass 89.7 GBH’s 11AM to 2:00PM midday block.
The Radio Associate Producer for BPR and TCD is a key position on our flagship talk show and reports to the Executive Producer, working closely with hosts Jim Braude and Margery Eagan, as well as Edgar

In addition, the Radio Associate Producer will help the shows expand their social media and digital offerings, including via video and podcast platforms.
