Overview
The New England Journal of Medicine invites applications from physicians for a one‑year, full‑time, paid editorial fellowship beginning in July 2027. Fellows review and edit Images in Clinical Medicine submissions, write Clinical Decisions columns, suggest topics for the Review Article series, and contribute to the Journal’s production of videos and podcasts. One fellow will spend part of the year working with the NEJM Evidence team.
Fellows participate in day‑to‑day editorial activities and attend weekly editorial meetings.
- Review and edit Images in Clinical Medicine submissions.
- Write Clinical Decisions columns under senior editor supervision.
- Suggest topics for the Review Article series.
- Contribute to production of NEJM Double Take videos and Beyond Journal Club podcasts with the Core IM team.
- Work with the NEJM Evidence team for an assigned portion of the year.
- Participate in day‑to‑day editorial activities and attend weekly editorial meetings.
- Good medical judgment and a strong command of written English.
- Ability to work independently.
- Willingness and ability to reside in the Boston area for the duration of the fellowship.
- Applicants need not be U.S. citizens.
