Accompanist, Piano

Job Description

The Ensemble Department is seeking a pianist to accompany students in ensemble classes.

• Act as part of the "house band" for regularly scheduled Ensemble Department classes.
• Participate in Ensemble Department performances and additional rehearsals.
• Accompany visiting artists’ concerts, clinics, and workshops.
• Assist students and faculty during class time.
• Work nights and weekends as required.

• Minimum:
  Bachelor’s Degree in Music (preferred, but not required).
• Strong musical background across a wide range of contemporary styles.
• Excellent sight‑reading and musicianship, able to groove.
• Complete technical command of the instrument.
• Sensitivity to the needs of vocalists.
• Ability to cultivate a supportive learning environment.
• Commitment to ethical behavior and continuous self‑improvement.

• Hourly rate: $40 per hour.
