WBZ-TV in Boston is seeking a creative, energetic, and experienced Reporter/Multi‑Skilled Journalist for TV and all digital platforms. The reporter will bring creative story ideas, cultivate sources, own social media, and connect with audiences. Candidates must shoot and edit high‑quality videos to tell engaging stories to broadcast, streaming, and digital audiences.
Primary Responsibilities- Shoot, write, edit and report news stories for WBZ-TV.
- Turn content into front multiple live shots, write copy for the station website, and use all social media to promote assignments.
- Perform high‑energy, engaging live shots as assigned.
- Consistently develop and implement enterprise stories.
- Regularly supply news content to the station’s social media and digital platforms.
- Maintain an unequivocal dedication to accuracy, fairness, and ethics.
- Ensure meeting all daily production deadlines.
- Apply strong writing and reporting skills; react to breaking news situations.
- Be a skilled interviewer, creative storyteller and writer.
- Collaborate with a team of managers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years reporting experience at a news organization with proven experience in the field, managing story development.
- Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or a similar field preferred.
- Proven experience shooting and editing with small or mid‑sized professional video cameras used in multi‑skilled reporting.
- Knowledge of social media and how to use it to promote to broadcast, streaming and the web; experience writing for the web required.
- Knowledge of iNews rundown systems and Avid Media Composer editing preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, early mornings, holidays, and weekends.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to join SAG/AFTRA Union.
