Audio Technician - Event Technician

Responsibilities

The Event Production Technician will play a critical role in the design, setup, and support of onsite and hybrid events for an established global technology client. This role is responsible for the following:

• Using technical expertise and creative innovation to contribute to the overall technical strategy of live events based on the creative vision and unique event scope.
• Utilizing deep knowledge of video equipment and technology to ensure flawless operation of all video equipment and making real‑time adjustments to ensure quality control.
• Collaborating with team members to optimize the operational setup of the production control room and overseeing troubleshooting of all aspects of the client’s production facilities and control rooms.

• Provide technical consultation on the production strategy based on event goals, scope, and vision.
• Oversee design, setup, and configuration of all control‑room elements to ensure a high‑quality event for client productions.
• Determine required hardware, equipment, and production assets needed for the event and oversee necessary testing and quality control.
• Oversee the operational approach to fulfill the creative production needs for client events, including but not limited to:
• Technical direction
• Audio mixing
• Robotic cameras
• Virtual platforms
• Graphics
• Video playback
• Streaming
• Lighting design
• Teleprompter
• Execute virtual events on various platforms such as Stream Yard, Wirecast, and VMix.
• Provide support for staging and creative lighting design.
• Use expert knowledge of production equipment to ensure optimization of all equipment configurations and setups.
• Recommend repair or replacement of equipment as needed.
• Collaborate on the assessment and recommendation of solutions for studio and event spaces based on operational requirements.
• Participate in scheduled meetings with team members to ensure alignment on event procedures, scheduling, and production briefs.

• 3+ years of experience in event production, broadcast, video production, or a similar field.
• 1+ years of experience with onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events.
• Studio production and event experience.
• Experience with control‑room equipment including video switchers, audio consoles, robotic cameras, and video playback software.
• Knowledge of virtual production and meeting platforms.
• Attention to detail and understanding of creative elements that work well for broadcast production.
• Strategic, organized, detail‑oriented, flexible, and a team player.
• Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during high‑pressure situations.
• Strong work ethic, self‑direction, motivation, patience, persistence, and perspective.
• Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills with an appreciation for white‑glove service.
• Ability to work independently and be self‑reliant in executing daily responsibilities.

• College degree in video production, broadcasting, communications, or a related field.
• Experience with Ross production environments and video switchers including Ultrix routers, Carbonite, and Ultra switchers.
• Experience with audio production systems including Yamaha consoles, Dante routing, Shure microphones, and intercom systems.
• Experience with Panasonic PTZ cameras.
• Familiarity with post‑production software such as Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro.

• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Travel required to productions, client offices, and AVI‑SPL Video Link offices.
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and perform overhead work.

Hourly: $25/hr – $33.65/hr
