WBZ-TV/CBS Boston is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Technology to lead the technical strategy and execution of our multi-platform content center. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring the operational excellence, innovation, and future-readiness of our broadcast and streaming infrastructure. Reporting directly to the President and General Manager, with a dotted-line relationship to the Division Senior Vice President of Engineering, the Director of Technology will play a critical role in shaping the technical vision of a modern television station and streaming operation in one of the nations most competitive media markets.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Develop and execute a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with organizational goals

+ Lead all engineering and technical operations for broadcast and digital streaming platforms

+ Oversee technical infrastructure supporting news production, content distribution, and multi-platform delivery

+ Drive innovation across television and streaming workflows

+ Ensure regulatory compliance, signal integrity, cybersecurity, and operational reliability

+ Collaborate with station an division leadership on capital planning, vendor relationships, and technology budgets

+ Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering specialist team

+ Partner with Director of News Operations and Production to prioritize station projects

Qualifications:

+ Proven leadership experience in broadcast engineering and/or multi-platform media environments

+ Deep expertise in television transmission, studio systems, newsroom workflows, and streaming technologies

+ Strong strategic planning and project management skills

+ Experience leading technical transformation initiatives

+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and executive leadership

+ Knowledge of FCC regulations and industry best practices

+ Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred
