I am seeking a Sound Designer/Foley Artist to help complete the audio for my short film: sound effects and ambient/room tones. It is an adaptation of a short story by Shirley Jackson (author of The Haunting of Hill House, among many others), with minimal dialogue between two characters and a duration just under seven minutes. This is a long-gestating independent production by a small crew on a shoestring budget — the most passionate of "passion projects" — that’d be the right fit for a beginner-to-intermediate candidate looking to bolster their portfolio with a credit on a high-quality cinematic output by lending their skills toward helping it cross the finish line.

This being a debut effort, there is an ingrained desire for professional networking via this job opportunity that would ideally lead to sustained & mutually-fulfilling creative collaborations.

My name is Pablo, and I think I could be a good fit for your project. I’ve been working professionally in the Latin American dubbing industry for around 12 years. I currently work as a director, sound engineer, and sound mixer at Film Dub Factory. I’m also the co‑founder and technical director of Duby Dub Studio, an independent studio focused on voice work, dubbing, and audio post‑production.

Most of my experience is in recording, editing, mixing, and audio post, and sound design is the area I’m especially interested in developing through Duby Dub.

I can handle the full sound post‑production for the short, including dialogue editing and cleanup, ambience and room tones, sound effects, Foley, sound design, and final mixing. The only area I don’t cover is original music composition.

I’m particularly interested in projects like this, and I’m happy to work at a reduced rate in exchange for crediting Duby Dub Studio for the sound post‑production. If we’re both happy with the result, I’d also love to leave the door open to working together again in the future.

For a short of this length, I can offer the complete sound post‑production for $245 USD total, based on roughly $35 per finished minute.

The exact amount of work will depend on what the film needs and the condition of the material I receive, but I can commit to a turnaround of no more than one week once I have everything needed to begin.

Stage 32 doesn’t allow me to attach files here, but I’d be happy to send you examples of my work by email or through another platform. I’d also be open to doing a short test on a scene from the film, so you can hear how I would approach the sound before deciding to work together.
