In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

The Berklee Popular Music Institute (BPMI) Student Assistant provides operational and administrative support to the institute’s leadership team. The position will assist in facilitating office processes, event planning, and travel arrangements to help workflows run as efficiently as possible.

Work schedule:

approximately 10-20 hours per week, September through May. Summer semester employment to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Job Duties
  • Create artist pitch decks throughout the Fall semester
  • Attend and take notes during BPMI class (Wednesdays, 4-6pm)
  • Attend and take notes during BPMI rehearsals (select Wednesdays, 5-10pm)
  • Meet with prospective BPMI students, and provide information about the institute’s programs.
  • Create content for BPMI social media accounts
  • Liaise with artists
  • Assist with rehearsal calendar management
  • Provide event support for on and off campus performances
  • Run errands on-campus as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must have successfully completed all 3 semesters of the BPMI Live program
  • Must maintain a friendly and upbeat attitude.
  • Must have proven ability to work collaboratively with peers
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Must be available Wednesdays from 4-6pm in the Fall and Spring semesters

Both a resume and cover letter are required for consideration. An interview with the institute's leadership team will be required.

Hourly Rate: $16.97
