Sohaara is a workforce and opportunity platform designed to help professionals and entrepreneurs get ready, stay relevant, access the right tools, and connect with work, funding, clients, people, and opportunities.

We are currently creating a significant amount of new video content around Sohaara, our products, our programs, and the ideas behind the company.

We are looking for a creative, reliable filmmaker/videographer in the Greater Boston area to work directly with Sohaara's founder to produce authentic, high-quality video content.

This is not a large commercial production. We want someone who can come in with a camera, good audio and basic lighting, create a clean setup, and efficiently record several pieces of content during a 3-4 hour session, or work in their studio as well.

Most filming will take place in or around Norwood, Massachusetts
, with occasional shoots elsewhere in the Greater Boston area.

Content may include:

• Founder speaking directly to camera
• Short thought-leadership videos

• Set up camera, lighting and professional-quality audio
• Recommend framing, positioning and simple filming setups
• Direct the founder when useful while keeping the delivery natural
• Record multiple videos efficiently during each session
• Capture occasional B-roll and alternative shots
• Organize and transfer the footage after filming

Editing will be done with the internal team.

• Experience filming people speaking directly to camera
• Your own camera and basic production equipment
• Good understanding of lighting and audio
• A strong visual eye and clean, modern aesthetic
• Ability to make someone on camera look polished without making the content feel overly produced
• Reliability and ability to work independently
• A portfolio or examples of previous video work

You do not need to be an established production company. Talented freelancers, independent filmmakers, recent film/media graduates, and strong emerging videographers are welcome.

$40-$50 per hour
, depending on experience and equipment.

Most sessions will be approximately 3-4 hours at a time
.

This is intended to become a recurring relationship
, rather than a one-time shoot. As Sohaara grows its content library, there should be opportunities for continued filming.

We're particularly interested in seeing examples of founder videos, talking-head content, and product videos.
