Traveling Action​/Sports Stills Photographer

DanceBUG Inc. is seeking a Traveling Live Action / Sports Stills Photographer (Seasonal) to capture dynamic images at dance competitions and live events across North America. In this role, you'll photograph performances, awards, and candid moments in fast-paced, often low-light environments, using sports-style techniques to freeze motion and highlight emotion. You'll travel frequently, set up and manage your own gear, and collaborate with on-site production teams.

Responsibilities include shooting, culling, and basic editing for rapid delivery to clients and online platforms. Ideal candidates bring strong technical camera skills, a polished portfolio of live action or performance work, confidence working around large groups and tight timelines, and a passion for both photography and the performing arts. Weekend and evening availability, professionalism on site, and reliability while traveling are essential.

Responsibilities

• Travel to dance competitions and live events across North America to photograph performances and candid moments.
• Capture high-quality live action, sports-style still images in fast-paced, low-light environments.
• Set up, test, and break down photography equipment, ensuring reliable operation throughout events.
• Edit, color-correct, and prepare photos for rapid turnaround and online delivery.
• Follow event shot lists, branding guidelines, and technical standards set by Dance
• BUG.
• Collaborate with video, streaming, and event operations teams on site for smooth coverage.
• Engage professionally with dancers, families, studios, and event partners to ensure a positive experience.
• Organize, back up, and upload image files according to company workflows and deadlines.
• Adapt quickly to changing schedules, venues, and lighting conditions while maintaining quality.
