The Graphic Designer will conceptualize and design marketing materials in support of the brand and mission of Oldways, a nutrition and educational nonprofit helping people live healthier and happier lives. The ideal candidate will be motivated to produce high quality work under tight deadlines, share ideas in team meetings, have strong time management and organization skills, and ensure brand consistency across all materials.
Responsibilities:- Brainstorm, develop, and execute design concepts for all print and digital resources.
- Collaborate and conceptualize with all departments, and work independently after being given project goals and creative guidelines.
- Design and production of marketing materials including flyers, ads, signs, brochures, books, electronic books, banners, infographics, etc.
- Review and proof each stage of production to assure accuracy and consistency in layout, color, and integrity of final product.
- Manage all aspects of pre-press production on printed materials, as well as editing and preparing files for printers.
- Consult directly with printers and other vendors on pricing, purchase orders, and job scheduling.
- Manage digital files including archiving and backing up files.
- Supporting graphic needs for social media and digital channels.
- Serve as a steward for the organization’s style guide; uphold standards for the brand by ensuring compliance and consistency throughout all materials.
- BA or BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
- 2 to 5 years professional design experience
- Proficiency in Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), MS Office (Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
- Excellent project management skills
- Have strong visual skills, particularly in text layout and use of color
- Self-direction, positive attitude, and the desire to work collaboratively as a team
- Excellent attention to detail, strong proofreading skills, and the ability to edit copy when needed
Web design, CMS, and knowledge of HTML
Salary is standard for a nonprofit in Boston and is commensurate with experience.
