The Customer Service Representative is the face of the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum (BTPSM). You tell our story to everyone you come in contact with. Guests judge our company and all of our employees by the way you do your job. You are to ensure the guest knows what they would miss by not taking our tour. The Customer Service Representative is to give accurate information and guide customers to BTPSM And Old Town Trolley Tours of Boston.

The guest's first impression should be that our company has integrity and is safe and fun.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Receive daily direction/instruction from the Manager on Duty (MOD). Make reservations and reservation changes; check in customers and accurately answer questions regarding hours, prices, tearoom, store, and other museum or tourism information.
  • Be knowledgeable of our products and pricing.
  • Make sure guests are on the correct tour. Keep lines orderly.
  • Greet tour buses/groups. Direct groups where to wait, keep the sidewalk clear, and help groups across the street. Keep the flow of traffic moving away from the curb.
  • Always look for your next customer, make eye contact, and greet your customer with a smile and prompt service.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently over long periods of time within the scope of established rules and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with customers, employees, and department staff.
  • Professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information
  • Clear speaking voice in the English language

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing
