Description

The Mass Hire Career Centers connect qualified job seekers with employers, providing the tools and resources needed to start a career, increase skills or find a new job. The Program Services Assistant delivers exceptional customer service and supports a range of customer development functions. The role also includes clerical and administrative tasks to ensure the Career Center operates effectively and enhances the marketability of its clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide positive first impression of the Career Center by communicating professionally.
  • Provide quality customer service by promptly and accurately fielding customer questions.
  • Direct customers appropriately; communicate information about the agency’s general operation.
  • Explain to customers the procedure and process for the Career Center.
  • Will handle high stress situations while demonstrating sound decision making process.
  • Learn and continuously maintain knowledge about all units of the Career Center, community programs and resources, especially those of the Career Center Partner Organizations.
  • Process high volume of walk-in inquiries while answering and routing high volume of incoming calls appropriately; take accurate messages when appropriate.
  • Input relevant customer data appropriately and timely by following all MOSES (database) entry policies; including and but not limited to, customer registration, services, notes and signing up customers for workshops in MOSES database.
  • Locate, organize and maintain information.
  • Maintain confidential records and information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Associate’s degree in human services, public administration, business management or related field preferred.
  • At least two years working in a career center, call center or other related experience preferred.
  • Ability to act with professionalism and compassion at all times when interacting with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole preferred but not required
Expected Salary

Expected Salary: $43,625 annually with the equivalent hourly rate of $23.97. Salary scales are set according to an explicit compensation policy and relevant market data. Due to funding restrictions and our strong focus on internal parity, this salary is thoughtfully aligned with the duties expected for this role, and offers are firm.
