Role Description This contract role is for a Tour Guide in Boston to show travelers visiting the region. The Tour Guide will lead personalized walking tours, share local knowledge and stories, and introduce visitors to both well-known and lesser-known areas. Daily tasks include meeting travelers at agreed locations, customizing itineraries to their interests, and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience throughout the tour.
The role involves answering questions, offering recommendations for local food, culture, and activities, and representing Lokafy’s values of authenticity and respect. Guides manage their own schedules, communicate with travelers and the Lokafy team, and maintain high standards of professionalism and reliability.
Qualifications
- Ability to conduct engaging Guided Tours, including planning routes and adapting to guests’ interests and needs.
- Strong Communication skills to explain local culture, history, and practical information clearly and confidently.
- Customer Service skills to create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere and respond to traveler requests and feedback.
- Interest or background in local History and culture, with a willingness to research and deepen knowledge of Boston.
- Basic Sales skills to promote tours, encourage repeat bookings, and represent Lokafy’s services positively.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
- In-depth familiarity with Boston, including neighborhoods, attractions, and local customs.
- Reliable time management and the ability to work independently as a self-employed contractor.
- Comfort working with diverse groups of travelers and commitment to a respectful, non-discriminatory guest experience.
