Part Time
- Provide direct oral health screenings, including assessment of oral health conditions, review of health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting, and measuring blood pressure and pulse.
- Takes and develops dental radiographs (x‑rays).
- Removes calculus and plaque (both hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth.
- Applies preventive materials to the teeth such as sealants and fluorides.
- Promotes oral health education and literacy; teaches patients and families on proper oral hygiene strategies, including tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
- Counsels patients and families regarding good nutrition and its impact on oral health.
- Completes impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs).
- Performs documentation and office management activities.
- Schedules and coordinates referrals for restorative and specialty care when needed.
- Follows hospital infection control and safety procedures.
- Meets hospital standards of performance and conduct, including patient rights and customer service.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene school.
- Licensure: Registered dental hygienist in Massachusetts with a current license.
- Experience: Five years of experience in oral health education and promotion preferred.

Skills:
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; working knowledge of word processing and database management; ability to collect, organize and analyze data. - Ability to perform oral health screenings and dental charting.
Salary Range: $30.05 – $43.75 (hourly) based on education, experience, skills, and certifications.
