Salary Grade
: $18.00 – $28.00 per hour (varies based on experience, education, and institutional factors)

The responsibility of this position is to effectively and safely follow the sterilization protocol to process all dental instruments and equipment and distribute and collect instruments and materials to and from the students. Maintain all autoclaves, statim, and dry heat machines with a high level of infection control at all times. Sterilize instruments using the proper equipment needed for general dentistry and specialty practice dentistry (e.g., orthodontics utilizes special machines).

Practice and follow infection control procedures at all times, which includes wearing the appropriate gloves when working with soiled and used instruments and working on the ‘clean’ and ‘dirty’ sides of the sterilization unit.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience in a clinical or sterilization setting.
• Certification in a professional organization for Infection Control and Prevention and/or instrumentation is highly desired.
