Company: Bailey Davol Studio Build
Location: Jamaica Plain, MA
Key Responsibilities- Design Selections:
- Develop cohesive interior finish palettes aligned with project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Source and specify all interior selections (cabinetry, countertops, tile, plumbing, lighting, hardware, flooring, appliances, paint, etc.).
- Present selections to clients and guide decision-making with clarity and confidence.
- Procurement & Purchasing:
- Place and manage orders for all design-related materials and products.
- Facilitate invoicing of clients for all selections.
- Track lead times, deliveries, backorders, and changes.
- Coordinate with vendors, showrooms, and trade partners.
- Manage returns, exchanges, damages, and warranty issues.
- Maintain accurate selection logs and procurement documentation.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and lead carpenters.
- Support pricing, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
- Communicate selection-related impacts to schedule and budget.
- Participate in site visits to confirm requirements and resolve design questions.
- Create SOPs and systems in collaboration with Office Manager.
- Client
Experience:- Serve as the primary design contact during the selections phase.
- Keep clients informed of timelines, approvals, and next steps.
- Balance client preferences with construction realities.
- Create and manage client’s End-of-Project Manual.
- 3+ years of professional interior design experience (residential renovation or design/build a plus).
- Degree in Interior Design or related field a plus.
- Strong knowledge of residential materials, finishes, and fixtures.
- Proven experience with purchasing, procurement, and vendor coordination.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Google Workspace required.
- Experience with Buildertrend and similar platforms a plus.
- A designer who takes ownership from selection through installation.
- Strong collaborative partner in a design/build environment.
- Process-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused.
- Comfortable working closely with construction teams.
- Calm and decisive in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, design-forward team environment.
