Job Description

AECOM’s Urbanism + Planning team is seeking a visionary and dynamic Landscape Architecture Studio Lead for our Boston Design Studio. The primary responsibilities are to lead and grow AECOM’s urbanism practice in New England with the goal of driving landscape architecture, placemaking, urban design innovation, thought leadership, and practice management. We are seeking an individual who is an industry-recognized leader, has strong client relationships, and an established industry network to help grow our Urbanism practice in Boston with opportunities to collaborate across the east coast.

The ideal candidate understands and has a proven track record in driving business fundamentals that include business development, client management, financial oversight, quality control, project delivery, and has the ability to convey innovative design thinking and solutions. This is a Hybrid role and does require to be in the office a few days a week.

In collaboration with the Buildings + Places and Urbanism + Planning teams the Landscape Architecture Studio Lead will:

  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for Boston, including building a landscape architecture and urban design practice that serves New England.
  • Relate the AECOM vision to clients and community needs in New England and advocate for design excellence.
  • Build client relationships, pre-position for opportunities, and secure a portfolio of work that aligns with growth objectives.
  • Contribute to AECOM’s “think and act globally” philosophy by creating a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Proactively focus on team building, talent development, retention, and recruiting.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Landscape Architecture + 10years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Licensed Landscaped Architect.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ leadership experience.
  • U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 12years’ experience leading complex landscape architecture projects.
  • Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Licensed Landscaped Architect (In New England states is Preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of the marketplace and industry trends in New England with national reach.
  • Experience practicing landscape architecture and urban design in New England and for municipal, county, or state clients, as well as institutional, higher ed and transportation entities.
  • Experience and skill in strategic business development, client interviews and relationship building, and driving sales and revenue.
  • Experiencing interfacing with project delivery teams on scope of work development, budget and schedule, and client satisfaction.
  • A strong desire to train, mentor, and develop staff to grow their careers and the business.
