Job Description:

Compensation: $15/hour

As a Studio Foundation Equipment Cage Monitor you will be responsible for checking out, scheduling reservations and checking in cameras, audio recorders, batteries, tripods, light kits, clip lights, projectors, speaker sets, adapters, extension cords, rulers, drawing tablets, drawing boards, cordless drills, sewing machines, light boxes, hand tool kits and other equipment required by our curriculum to SF students and faculty.

You will be delivering and retrieving these items in person and via a bluetooth locker system. Familiarity with these different types of equipment is helpful, but not required. You will also be responsible for scheduling reservations and coordinating A/V equipment for faculty, providing support and assisting studio managers as needed.

You need to have some experience or familiarity with using Mac OS computers, printing, digital photography, scanning, video camera use, the Adobe CC Suite and A/V equipment. This knowledge is helpful, but not required.

You will be delivering this help in person, via zoom, telephone and email. It's important to have a positive attitude about helping the SF faculty & students. A large part of your duties will be prepping and cleaning the Media Arts area of Studio Foundation for the fall semester. Shifts in the Studio Foundation Equipment Cage are only on weekdays and are five hours per shift.

The Morning Shifts are Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 12:45pm. The Mid-Day Shifts are Monday through Thursday from 12:30pm to 5:30pm. The Evening Shifts are Monday through Thursday from 5:15pm to 10:15pm. There is one six and three quarter hour shift on Friday from 12:30pm to 7:15pm. SF Cage Monitors traditionally work one or two of these shifts per semester.

Requirements:

You must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior who has completed Visual Language and TIME or equivalents to work as a Studio Foundation Equipment Cage Monitor. Completion of Visual Language and TIME will give you the basic skills needed for helping students with their projects and training is available to hone your skills. We are open to employing both College Work Study and Per Diem/Trust Fund students, but you cannot be a first-year student.
