STV, a nationally recognized architecture and engineering firm, is seeking a Project Architect / Architectural Designer to join our team in Boston, MA. In this role, you will contribute to innovative projects and pursuits across the greater Boston region in a broad range of market sectors including transportation, infrastructure, justice, health and wellness, and science and technology.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with architectural and engineering teams to develop design solutions and prepare construction documents.
- Support projects through all phases from concept through construction administration.
- Prepare and oversee architectural plans that integrate engineering disciplines, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Perform technical design analysis including systems, layouts, and detailing.
- Conduct research for specifications and coordinate with manufacturers and outside consultants.
- Perform code analysis, material selection, and technical design in compliance with regulations.
- Conduct site visits, prepare field reports and assist with inspections if required.
- Coordinate across disciplines to meet project schedules and deliverables.
- Professional degree in Architecture (M.Arch preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of project experience focused on some of the specific market sectors listed above is preferred.
- Licensed Architect preferred (MA or ability to obtain licensure).
- Proficiency in Revit BIM modeling, ACC Cloud collaboration between discipline models, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Office.
- Strong design, detailing, and graphic presentation skills.
- Knowledge of IBC, NFPA, and Massachusetts codes.
- Work independently with strategic collaboration and oversight from senior staff.
- Lead design coordination and define technical approaches.
- Mentor junior staff and support team development.
- Perform architectural analysis and develop detailed documentation.
- Serve as quality control reviewer of design packages of other staff members.
- Participate in construction administration (RFIs, submittals).
- Ensure compliance with codes and project standards.
