Must be located in MA, NH or CT or RI for regional travel
We are seeking a Technical Lab Planner & Project Coordinator to support the design, planning, and implementation of technical education labs, makerspaces, workforce training centers, and specialized learning environments
This role combines CAD design, project coordination, equipment planning, and relationship management with architects, educators, and industry partner
Key Responsibilities- Create and modify CAD layouts for technical labs, shops, and training facilities.
- Plan equipment placement, instructional areas, storage, workflow, safety clearances, and future growth needs
- Review architectural drawings and provide recommendations to optimize functionality, safety, and learning outcomes
- Manage projects from planning through installation and closeout
- Coordinate communication among clients, architects, contractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Track schedules, deliverables, documentation, and project milestones
- Build relationships with architecture and design firms involved in education and workforce development projects
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, networking events, and project reviews
- Support proposal development and help identify new consulting and project opportunities
- Experience in architectural design, construction coordination, equipment planning, project management, or a related field
- Strong CAD skills and ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Understanding of MEP systems and infrastructure requirements for specialized equipment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Experience with educational facilities, technical training centers, makerspaces, or specialized labs.
- Familiarity with manufacturing, robotics, automation, CNC, welding, HVAC, electrical, or related technical equipment.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Solid Works, or similar design software
- Background in construction administration, FF&E coordination, or public-sector projects.
- Business development or relationship-building experience is a plus.
