Boston, MA — South End Flagship Showroom Full-Time, On-Premise Tuesday – Saturday

Position Overview

Are you a driven, passionate interior design professional with an eye for modern aesthetics and a talent for high-end clientelling? Lekker Home is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Interior Design Consultant to join our flagship showroom team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between design creativity and consultative selling. You will serve as a premier brand ambassador, cultivating long-term relationships with local interior designers, architects, and residential clients, helping them bring their spatial visions to life using our luxury product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management & Sales
  • Actively manage the full client lifecycle utilizing proactive outreach strategies to achieve individual and showroom fiscal goals.
  • Cultivate and scale strong professional relationships with interior designers, architects, and design firms, serving as their dedicated contact for our A+D Trade Program.
  • Consistently meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue targets and client retention milestones.
Design Consultation & Spatial Planning
  • Deliver personalized, luxury-tier design consultations to showroom walk-ins and scheduled appointments.
  • Translate client project parameters into functional, beautiful design concepts by providing expert guidance on spatial planning, custom configurations, textile/fabric pairings, and finish specifications.
  • Generate accurate, timely project quotes, and develop floor plans and visual mood boards to close high-ticket custom furniture and lighting orders.
Order Ownership & Project Tracking
  • Oversee projects from initial conception through to final delivery, ensuring total customer success through clear communication regarding lead times, order updates, and installation support.
Showroom Excellence & Operations
  • Contribute to maintaining pristine visual merchandising standards and the overall aesthetic integrity of the showroom floor.
  • Support general daily showroom operations, including receiving inventory, catalog organization, sample library maintenance, and quarterly inventory audits.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in design sales, luxury retail, interior design, architecture, or a luxury showroom environment.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability to manage high-value residential or commercial design projects and a track record of selling successfully to trade professionals (designers/architects).
  • Design Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern design principles, ergonomics, textiles, color theory, and luxury furniture brands.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills with a high proficiency in Apple/Mac environments and Google Workspace. Experience navigating retail POS systems is highly desired.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; a polished and professional demeanor aligned with a luxury brand lifestyle.
  • Physical Expectations: Ability to maneuver effectively around the showroom floor, stand for prolonged periods during high-traffic hours, and lift/mobilize catalogs, fabric swatches, or small display items up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related creative field.
  • Familiarity with interior design software and space-planning tools (AutoCAD, Sketch Up Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, or Revit).
  • Experience specifying custom finishes and made-to-order furniture.
  • Additional language skills (we love Dutch!).
