Goody Clancy is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Architect to serve as a technical partner to our Design Principals and Project Architects. The role is instrumental in translating design vision into thoughtfully detailed and well-coordinated buildings that embody both design excellence and technical rigor. Working across multiple projects, the Senior Project Architect collaborates with Design Principals, Project Architects, project teams, and consultants to ensure design intent is successfully realized in every project phase through exceptional documentation, technical coordination, constructability, and quality.
This position is ideal for an experienced architect who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, mentoring others, and helping elevate the quality of architectural design across the firm.
The Senior Project Architect serves as a firmwide technical resource, partnering with project teams during complex projects and critical phases of project delivery. Working alongside Design leads, the role helps translate design vision into coordinated, technically sound, and successfully executed architectural solutions by providing expertise in building systems, detailing, code compliance, documentation, constructability, quality assurance, and construction administration. The Senior Project Architect also mentors staff and contributes to the advancement of firmwide technical standards and best practices.

Primary Responsibilities
- Design Partnership and Technical Integration
- Partner with Design Principals from concept through construction to successfully translate design vision into well-coordinated and technically rigorous architectural solutions.
- Preserve design intent while resolving technical, regulatory, constructability, and coordination challenges.
- Participate in design reviews to promote technical excellence while maintaining the integrity of each project's design vision.
- Technical project leadership
- Supports Design Principals and Project Architects on the firm's most complex and technically challenging projects.
- Advises teams on building systems, detailing, constructability, coordination, specifications, and technical problem solving.
- Participates in consultant coordination, client meetings, project reviews, and contractor discussions when senior technical expertise is required.
- Balances design intent with constructability, budget, schedule, code compliance, and long-term building performance.
- Practice leadership
- Serves as a firmwide technical resource supporting multiple project teams.
- Helps develop and implement firmwide technical standards, documentation practices, QA/QC procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborates with leadership to improve technical consistency, project quality, and project delivery.
- Identifies opportunities to improve documentation standards, workflows, and processes.
- Promote a collaborative culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance & Risk Management
- Serves as a firmwide resource for QA/QC, supporting multiple project teams by leading reviews at major project milestones.
- Reviews construction documents for technical accuracy, coordination, constructability, and code compliance.
- Identifies technical risks early and help project teams develop practical solutions that protect both design intent and project success.
