Position: Total Joint Replacement Surgeon

Overview

The Carl J Shapiro Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (an affiliate of Beth Israel Lahey Health) and Harvard Medical School seek applications and nominations for an early to mid-career Arthroplasty and Joint Reconstruction Surgeon with a strong interest in orthopedic education and clinical research. This is an employed position of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, Inc.

(HMFP).

The incumbent is expected to have strong clinical experience in primary and revision arthroplasty, and a focus on educational and research activities. Preferential consideration may be given to applicants who possess a strong academic and research track record. Academic Rank at Harvard Medical School (HMS) is available and will be commensurate with experience, training and scholarly achievements. Faculty appointment decisions are solely the purview of HMS.

Clinical

Practice

Clinical practice will be primarily based at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Level I trauma center in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical Area, and New England Baptist Hospital, with additional clinical opportunities for practice at other sites within the Beth Israel Lahey Health network, including BIDMC Needham, other BILH affiliates, as well as affiliated Ambulatory Surgical Centers.

Qualifications

Candidates must have completed an accredited orthopaedic residency training program, a fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction, be board certified/board eligible, and be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts. Proposed academic rank at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and academic achievements.
