Overview
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Harvard Medical School and Mass General Brigham (MGB) Infection Control invite applications for a faculty position combining academic clinical work in Pediatric Infectious Diseases with leadership in Infection Prevention and Control. This unique role offers the opportunity to contribute to clinical care, infection prevention, and system-level quality and safety initiatives across the MGB network.
It also provides an academic milieu with opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, research, and academic advancement.
- Position includes two complementary components:
- (1) Attending Physician, Pediatric Infectious Diseases (0.4 FTE) — providing inpatient consultative services and ambulatory care. The successful candidate will have expertise in managing complex infectious diseases in both acute care and outpatient settings. This role reports to the Chief, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Global Health.
- (2) Site Medical Director, Infection Control (0.6 FTE) — a leadership role within MGB Infection Control, reporting to the Chief of Infection Control. The incumbent will be assigned a primary site in the Community Division of MGB as part of a site-based team to implement and sustain system-wide infection prevention strategies, provide clinical oversight, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. They will be part of a team of Infection Control Medical Directors providing system support to MGB sites and programs.
Flexibility, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential.
- Candidates must meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities.
- Board-certified in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
- Experience in Infection Prevention and Control.
- Doctor of Medicine degree (MD).
