What You’ll Do
  • Evaluate and manage adult/geriatric thoracic surgery patients in a hospital setting
  • Perform procedures including chest tube placement, Blake drain, and pigtail management
  • Assist with ABG, NGT, G, and J feeding tube procedures
  • See approximately 15-25 patients per shift, primarily on the floor, ICU, or post-op units
  • Support the care team as a solo provider with backup from a resident or fellow
  • Respond to codes and perform initial assessments when needed
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
  • Manage transfers, perform H&Ps for transferred patients, and participate in post-op care
What You Need
  • Required:
    • NCCPA certification and valid licensure (no state license required)
    • ACLS and BLS certifications
    • DEA registration
    • At least 1 year of thoracic surgery experience or equivalent
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with thoracic surgical procedures and post-op patient management
