The Learning & Development Manager will work in collaboration with the Professional Development(PD) and Human Resources(HR) teams todevelopcurricula, create programs,and manage training to support the professional development and career success of Foley Hoag attorney sand business professionals.
This hybrid role requires in-office presence in our Boston office at least three days per week to foster collaboration and connection. The onsite expectation is Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday of each week.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratewiththe Director of Professional Development and PD team to assessattorneyneeds;establish goals;and create, implement, andoverseea
PD core skills training curriculum. - Collaborate with Chiefof HR and HR team to create and implement relevant training for Business Professionals adjacent tothe PD curriculum.
- Create metrics to evaluate training ROI,collect and analyze feedback,assess progress on goals, and implement change as needed.
- Envision, design, and implement innovative approaches to training and curriculum design.
- Support internal presenters to maximize training effectiveness and engagement.
- Identify, vet, and manage external training vendors; review content and materials to ensure training is customized forfirmand culture.
- Oversee and promote opportunities for online learning; collaborate with vendors and internal groups onuse of content and integration into curricula; promote external training opportunities.

PD Training & CLE Specialist to provide
CLE-accreditationforqualifyinginternal programs; address CLE inquiries and provide updates on CLE changes as needed. - Support training initiative sin other PD-related areas, includingmentoringand review processes; recommend and implement program enhancementsandbest practices.
- Contribute to development of best practice PD materials;manage resources and training content on the firm’s Learning Center and PD intranet site.
- Monitor external trends and best practices in attorney professional training;share insights andofferrecommendations.
- Contribute to other PD initiatives and programs as requested.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional development/training experience within the legal industry, preferably at amanagerlevel,withexpertisein training and curriculum design, development, and implementation.
- High levelof initiative, ownership, flexibility, creativity, andstrategicvision.
- Excellent interpersonal, team, and verbal and written communications skills, withabilityto work effectively and collaboratively at alllevels.
- Strong organizational skills withabilityto manage multiple projects at once,realign priorities as needed, and drive projects to successful completion.
- BA/BS required;
JD or MS in Education, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
Compensation range is $151,000 to $184,000commensuratewith related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm’s reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
