Major Responsibilities:
- Organizing and implementing multisensory structured language instruction.
- Providing direct service for whole group, small group, and individual instruction based on student needs.
- Administering and interpreting educational assessments.
- Implementing a range of effective strategies and reading interventions.
- Co-planning with classroom teachers.
- Organizing and disseminating ELA resources to school staff.
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, including measures such as DIBELS for grade-level meetings.
- Implementing lessons specific to Common Core Standards and sharing instructional strategies.
- Participating in grade-level meetings.
- Leading specified curriculum meetings, as well as discussions around literacy practices.
- Assisting in the analysis of school-wide literacy strengths and weaknesses and formulating plans to improve student achievement in reading and teacher effectiveness.
- Creating an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth and accelerate the reading achievement of all students.
