About

The Role

The Possible Zone (TPZ), a nonprofit organization, seeks a part-time Student Experience Coordinator to join the Student Support team. This is an in‑person part‑time role based in our Boston Innovation Center, with the expectation of working 5 days per week in our Boston office. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of working with high‑school students in an enrichment and/or youth‑development environment and is passionate about closing the opportunity gap.

The Student Experience Coordinator is an integral part of the TPZ community and works directly with both students and educators to ensure a positive, welcoming environment where students feel safe and supported. Beyond the classroom, this role leads student activities, builds vital community connections and enriches the overall student experience. Collectively, this holistic support model dramatically enhances student overall well‑being, by addressing underlying challenges, and ultimately accelerates their advancement and success within the program.

This role reports directly to the Director of Student & Family Support.

  • Monitor Student Support Hub submissions and document interactions, interventions, and next steps in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support the implementation of student support plans in collaboration with educators and staff to ensure consistent expectations
  • Facilitate restorative conversations, provide de‑escalation and crisis response, and support students returning from absences or incidents
  • Respond immediately to emergencies by following established procedures and supporting communication or safety steps as instructed by the supervisor or site lead
  • Communicating with educators and the Senior Director of Student | Family Support immediately in the event any of the following are observed: abrasive or abusive language, sexual harassment, fighting, use of drugs or other illicit behaviors, like misuse of TPZ property
  • Identify academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges that may stem from unmet external needs—such as housing instability, food insecurity, or mental health concerns—and proactively connect students and families with the appropriate internal supports or community‑based wraparound services

Student & Family Engagement

  • Assist with planning and facilitating student engagement opportunities such as SPARK events, Circle Chats, enrichment activities, and community‑building experiences
  • Support family engagement efforts including family events, workshops, outreach, and regular communication to strengthen partnership and trust
  • Create family‑facing materials relevant to the assigned project
