Adjunct Faculty for On‑ground MSW, School of Social Work

Simmons University School of Social Work (SSW) is now accepting applications to increase its dynamic group of adjunct instructors. The MSW program offers a variety of clinical and macro courses that meet three semesters per year:
Fall and Spring (each 14 sessions of 2 hours and 50 minutes) and Summer (a condensed 9‑session, 3 hours and 50 minutes program). Courses are offered Monday‑Thursday during the day and evenings, as well as Friday and Saturday during the day.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses on the on‑ground platform of the MSW program.
  • Deliver the scheduled sessions for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
  • Prepare and present course materials, assignments, and assessments.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to students as required.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited CSWE program is required (except for teaching research and evaluation courses).
  • Minimum of 5 years post‑MSW experience.
  • Highest level of clinical licensure (e.g., LICSW in Massachusetts) required to teach clinical courses.
  • Prior or current classroom teaching experience or training of social workers.
  • Doctoral degree is preferred but not required.

Compensation

$6,395 per course.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws effective October 29, 2025, Simmons University is committed to pay equity, transparency, and clear communication throughout the hiring process. Compensation for adjunct faculty is established at a set rate per course and does not vary based on experience, education, or other factors.
