With more than 50 years of academic excellence, Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is one of Massachusetts' largest community colleges, serving approximately 16,000 students annually. The primary responsibility of the English tutor is to provide one-on-one or group support to students who are currently enrolled in writing-focused, English, literature, and ELL courses. The tutor s work is informed by best practices and the mission of TASC.

The Professional English Tutor will also be responsible for the following:

• Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic assignments.
• Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research and writing.
• Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
• Providing students positive and constructive feedback.
• Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Attending staff meetings several times each semester.

• Bachelor s degree in English, Creative Writing, Communications, Literature, Education or a related area is required
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole in addition to English desired
• Ability to work independently
• Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
• The tutor is needed Monday and Wednesday 9am to 5pm in-person on the Chelsea campus

• Master s degree is preferred
• 1+ years of tutoring or related experience preferred

Salary: $36.55 an hour at 18 hours a week. Part-Time Non-Benefited position.
