The Learning Community Seminar for First-Year Students (LCS
101) is a thematic, three-credit course designed to help incoming students make a successful transition to college. The Seminar provides a student-centered, active learning environment that maximizes academic and personal growth. Students develop competencies in the following areas:
Education, Financial & Career Planning, Civic Engagement, Information Literacy, Life Long Learning, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Integrated Communication, Intercultural Knowledge and Competence, Reflection and Self-Assessment and Teamwork. Faculty design Seminar topics based on area of study and interests.
- Master s degree required
- Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
- Ability to teach in the TUPIT program and at MCIS
- Community college teaching experience.
- Experience working with first-year college students.
Salary: $1,397.00 per credit hour
