Job DescriptionThe Part-Time Language Lab Assistant reports to the Language Lab Coordinator and works alongside the Coordinator and other Language Lab staff to support BHCC students learning English or other languages offered Part-Time Language Lab Assistant will be responsible for the following:
- Providing one-on-one or group support to students who are currently enrolled in BHCC courses.
- Facilitating student and class visits to the Language Lab.
- Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
- Providing students positive and constructive feedback about their learning.
- Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Participating in meetings and professional development activities related to the Language Lab's work and mission (i.e.
- maintain a working knowledge of assigned area; maintain general knowledge of BHCC practices; attend workshops and training sessions).
- Associate's Degree in language-related area is required.
- 1+ years of experience working in a Language Lab is required.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Proven ability to work with a faculty, staff and student population.
- Salary: 18/hrs week @ $22.00/hr part-Time Non-Benefited position.
