Job DescriptionBunker Hill Community College seeks a qualified Part‑Time Pitching Coach to support the development of its emerging softball program. The individual in this role will provide specialized instruction to student‑athletes and assist in the overall implementation of the softball program in alignment with institutional and NJCAA standards.
Responsibilities- Develop and conduct pitching‑focused training sessions that emphasize mechanics, consistency, and situational strategy.
- Provide individualized instruction and performance evaluations for pitchers.
- Assist the Head Coach with practice planning, game preparation, and in‑game pitching decisions.
- Contribute to the recruitment and assessment of prospective student‑athletes.
- Maintain accurate and timely communication regarding athlete progress, expectations, and program standards.
- Ensure adherence to college, conference, and NJCAA compliance requirements.
- Promote an inclusive, respectful environment that supports the academic and athletic development of a diverse student population.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Competitive playing experience as a pitcher at the secondary and collegiate levels.
- Coaching experience at the secondary and/or collegiate levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills.
Salary: $4,000 total for the season. The position will be paid in installments throughout the season. Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as noted above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience has prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.
Please note that as a condition of employment, the final candidate will undergo Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) background screenings in accordance with state regulations. The results of these screenings may impact the hiring decision.
