Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements: BHCC seeks full-time biology faculty who demonstrate a passion for teaching and a desire to join faculty and staff to expand and create new strategies for student success. Candidates must be experienced with online and in-person pedagogies and be adept in the assessment of learning outcomes and in the use of technology in the classroom. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse adult learners.

Additionally, BHCC seeks faculty who value advising students and wish to contribute fully to the life of the College. Faculty may be assigned courses at one or more of the College's locations.

Full-time Biology instructor in the Biology and Chemistry Department. Primarily responsible for the teaching of microbiology, general biology and introductory biology for Health Science and STEM students.

Responsibilities:

* Teach microbiology, general biology, human biology, and/or introduction to biology.

* Assist in the design and coordination of laboratory activities for courses taught.

* Evaluate student performance in the classroom and laboratory setting using outcomes-based assessments.

* Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students' critical thinking skills.

* Develop instructional material consistent with course objectives.

* Participate in determining appropriate goals and objectives of microbiology and biology courses and assist in developing course standards.

* Use new technologies in the classroom to supplement instruction.

* Demonstrate a willingness to teach or learn to teach hybrid on-line courses.

* Maintain expertise in area of teaching responsibility.

* Comply with all duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements:

* Masters' degree in Biology required.

* Background or course work in microbiology, anatomy and physiology, biotechnology, cell biology a plus.

* Strong laboratory skills required.

* College-level teaching experience required; community college teaching experience preferred.

Preferred Requirements:

* Ph.D. preferred.

* Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle, preferred.

* Demonstrated experience with artificial intelligence in the teaching learning process.

* Demonstrated experience teaching in an online format.

* Demonstrated experience supporting student retention as part of teaching and learning.

Additional Information:

Salary: $60,483.00 - $65,164.00 (Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate with Education & Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.) Full Time State Benefited position.
