About the Opportunity

The Department of Economics in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University is seeking to fill two full‑time non‑tenure‑track faculty positions at the ranks of Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full Teaching Professor. Candidates will teach macroeconomics, with emphasis on large sections of Principles of Macroeconomics, and may also contribute to graduate‑level macroeconomics courses in MS and PhD programs.

Secondary teaching interests in machine learning, computational economics, or data‑intensive methods will strengthen applications. The position is on the Boston campus, starts on August 17, 2026, is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible role with promotion opportunities along an established track.

The primary responsibilities include teaching six courses per academic year (three courses in each semester), advising students, and engaging in professional development and service activities. Directors may assist with curriculum design and cross‑college teaching collaborations.

• Ph.D. in Economics or a related field (earned by the start date) is required.

• For Associate Teaching Professor appointments: hold rank of Associate Teaching Professor or comparable experience.
• For Full Teaching Professor appointments: hold rank of Full Teaching Professor or comparable experience.

Assistant Teaching Professor: $69,000–$80,000. Associate Teaching Professor: $81,000–$92,000. Full Teaching Professor: $93,000–$113,000. Salary is reviewed regularly.
