About the Opportunity

The Specialist position focuses on the developmental support of a portfolio of university‑recognized student organizations. Frequent assessment of student leader needs, strategic planning for enhancement and expansion of group resources, and administrative program management responsibilities are core. The Specialist works closely with student leaders, campus partners, and student‑driven committees to provide signature programming for the University and reports to the Associate Director of Student Engagement.

Frequent nights and weekends are a must.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent problem‑solving and exceptional interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in College Student Development or a related field is preferred (or comparable experience).
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • 1) University‑Recognized Signature Events
    • Provide developmental and strategic support to organizations planning programming for the University community.
    • Engage with student leaders to navigate administrative and logistical needs for events such as Relay for Life, Fall Fest, Spring Fest, and Homecoming.
    • Manage budgets for signature events.
    • Attend events as required to ensure success.
    • Plan large‑scale programming for undergraduate and graduate student populations.
  • 2) Student Organization Program Management and Advisement
    • Provide event‑planning support to student organizations.
    • Meet with students and student organizations to develop a vision and budgets for their events.
    • Inform students of policies and coordinate their programs.
    • Communicate effectively with performers, vendors, agents, and middle agents.
    • Edit and develop contracts for various performers, venues, and vendors.
    • Attend events as necessary to ensure success.
  • 3) Other Duties
    • Facilitate CSI student leadership development opportunities.
    • Coordinate assessment tools and instill assessment culture among student organizations.
    • Represent CSI on various division‑wide committees.
    • Perform other duties as assigned that are necessary for team success.
