Reports to: Principal/Head of School

• Teach Instructional Technology (Computers) to grades 10–12.

• Accountability for Student Achievement

  • Use practices that challenge, motivate, and engage students, fostering equitable participation.
  • Build a productive learning environment where every student feels valued.

  • Create and maintain an environment that respects students’ diverse backgrounds and strengths.

  • Engage families and build collaborative, respectful relationships to support student learning.

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
• License: Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License for Instructional Technology (All Levels).
• Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and “Highly Qualified” according to NCLB.
• Meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by the Boston Public Schools.
• Hold current authorization to work in the United States; this must be in place by the first day of employment.

• Experience teaching in urban schools.
• Fluency in one of BPS’s official languages:
  Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali.
• Certification in the subject area and one or both of:
  Moderate Disabilities, English as a Second Language (appropriate grade level).
