Position: University of Massachusetts Boston – – Vice Provost, Student Equity, Access, and Success

Vice Provost, Student Equity, Access, and Success (VP, SEAS)

The University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for the position of Vice Provost, Student Equity, Access, and Success (VP, SEAS). Reporting to the Provost & Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the VP SEAS will play a critical role in developing and executing innovative strategies that support a diverse community of undergraduate and graduate students and advance the university’s mission and strategic plan.

The VP, SEAS will provide visionary direction and oversight for the development, implementation, and assessment of holistic student success initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

leading a team of 89 and managing a budget of nearly $11 million (including $4.6 million in grants); collaborating with Provost, Vice Chancellors, Deans, faculty, staff, and students to design and coordinate integrated academic and career programming; advancing equitable academic outcomes through effective retention strategies, seamless pre‑collegiate and transfer pathways, cultivation of belonging, coordination of advising, expansion of experiential learning opportunities, proactive support for degree completion, and implementation of data‑informed and equity‑minded practices.

Qualification requirements: an earned doctorate; significant leadership experience in managing academic advising, career services, academic support services, or relevant student services; proven ability in change management, personnel development, and complex budget oversight; a highly strategic, visionary, and collaborative leadership style with a track record of architecting innovative and impactful student support services.
