Assistant Director of College Counseling

The Roxbury Latin School seeks to appoint an Assistant/Associate Director of College Counseling beginning in the fall semester of 2026. Among other duties, this position entails guiding a group of Roxbury Latin boys through the college selection and application process each year.

• Build college lists with students and guide them through the college selection and application process each year.
• Write personalized recommendations and provide feedback on college essays.
• Advise families on college choices and financial aid.
• Represent Roxbury Latin to colleges.
• Stay abreast of current trends in the college application and enrollment management process.
• Coaching, academic advising, supervising extracurricular activities, or teaching an academic course (additional duties may be assigned).

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Significant experience in selective college admissions or college counseling offices.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of athletic recruitment, need-based financial aid, and merit-award packages.
• Facility with college advising software.
• Creative thinking about the evolving college admissions landscape.
• Collaboration skills and enthusiasm to advocate for students.
• Passion for working with high‑school students and capacity to engage students and families with honesty and empathy.

Coaching, academic advising, supervising other extracurricular activities, or teaching an academic course may be assigned.

Salary range: $80,000 – $120,000, depending on experience.
