Part‑Time Lecturer, Bioinformatics (Boston)

We are seeking instructors to teach graduate courses in bioinformatics and related fields as part of the Bioinformatics Professional Science Master’s program.

Individuals will teach graduate courses in biological science and programming with a focus on bioinformatics methods, providing high‑quality instruction and curriculum development support.

• Review and learn key teaching points within existing instructor guides.
• Prepare lectures based on course materials provided.
• Facilitate respectful debates and discussions in in‑person or online classes.
• Provide timely review and grading of assignments with coaching and feedback to students.
• Consistently connect with students and monitor their performance.
• Contribute to the program’s curriculum development efforts.
• Adhere to Northeastern’s policies.
• Work under the director’s direction and hold office hours as appropriate.

• PhD in bioinformatics, biology, or a closely related field.
• Experience applying computational methods to biological problems.
• Either prior teaching experience or more than 3 years of industry or academic experience in a relevant field.
• Proven platform skills and an open, supportive personal style.
• Preferred: prior teaching experience at a diverse higher education institution.
• Strong knowledge of Python and/or R programming languages.

Academic – part‑time lecturer.

Per credit rate: $2,208 – $2,885.
