Job DescriptionRoad to Success at Charlestown High School (formerly Diploma Plus) is an alternative education program within Charlestown High School. It exists to support students in earning a high school diploma, developing a positive self‑identity, and creating plans for after graduation. The program is competency‑ and project‑based, with a restorative justice lens, and is underpinned by the core values of Ubuntu, self‑awareness, and critical consciousness.
It is structured for students to complete the program in two years at their own pace.
The Graduation Coach will closely monitor student attendance and create interventions to increase attendance. Prevention strategies will be used to create a safe learning environment where students are seen, heard, and celebrated. The Coach will lead Attendance Team meetings, manage interventions in Panorama, and report attendance data on an ongoing basis.
BehaviorThis role includes providing direct restorative services to students and families, conducting student/family conferences and circles, providing immediate support as needed, and supporting opportunities for student leadership and engagement. The Coach will manage the application of the Code of Conduct to ensure due process and student safety, and will help build a culture of restorative, racial, and anti‑racist justice.
Academic SupportIn collaboration with teachers, the Coach will progress‑monitor students’ credit completion, participate in Student Support meetings, and manage the Edmentum online learning platform. This includes monitoring credit recovery blocks, running usage reports, and creating intervention plans to help students complete courses. The Coach will also contact students during the summer for credit recovery, returning to school, and communicate summer graduation information and fall plans as applicable.
CollaborationThe Coach will work closely with RTS staff to create multiple tiers of intervention, refer students for support services via the Student Development Counselor and community‑based supports, and assist in re‑engagement, program introduction, and the path to graduation. The Coach will also aid in ensuring effective transitions for incoming students and help maintain track of attendance, behavior, and classes.
Additional DutiesIn addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Coach will engage in student support meetings, analyze data, communicate with families, support student activities, participate in program‑wide professional development, assist with class coverage, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree (copy of transcript required).

- Commitment to cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity.
- Ability to take on responsibilities and prioritize quickly.
- Ability to work within flexible working hours.
- Ability to work within a complex school system.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluency in languages in addition to English.
- Experience in progress monitoring and data tracking.
- Post‑graduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- 3-5 years experience in an urban setting.
- Familiarity with Boston and Boston Public Schools.
