DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT
OF POSITION:
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible special education teacher to join the Eddy Elementary School community. The ideal candidate is committed to supporting learners with diverse needs and has experience modifying grade level curriculum for students with intellectual disabilities, experience with designing curriculum for small group math and ELA classes, and co-teaching in general education settings. This role involves working collaboratively with general education teachers,
specialists, and families to ensure each student’s academic, social, and
emotional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, specially-designed instruction to students in grades three through five on individualized education plans (IEPs) that support progress towards achieving their goals and objectives;
- Modify the general education curriculum for students on IEPs by collaborating closely with general education teachers, special education service providers, school psychologist, and parents/caretakers;
- Ability to collect and analyze data and write and implement IEPs;
- Knowledge of best practices around differentiating instruction for students;
- Ability to work with para educators to support students’ IEP goals and objectives;
- Ability to communicate regularly with all members of the special education team, including parents and caretakers to ensure that students are making progress;
- The ability to be flexible, have a positive attitude, and be a lifelong learner is necessary.

SALARY:
$29,210.00 - $60,152.00
