We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) to support students across grades K–8 in a school setting in the Boston area. The SLP-A will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide high-quality therapy services that promote communication, academic achievement, and social success. PLEASE BE AWARE- THE POSITION IS PART-TIME ONLY!
- Implement therapy activities designed by the supervising SLP that target speech, language, fluency, voice, and social communication skills.
- Support students in achieving their IEP goals and ensure services are delivered with fidelity.
- Collect, record, and report data on student progress during sessions.
- Prepare instructional and therapy materials, visuals, and AAC supports.
- Assist with speech and language screenings and informal assessments under SLP guidance.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special educators, and related service providers to ensure communication strategies are embedded throughout the school day.
- Maintain compliance with FERPA, IDEA, and school policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and supervision check-ins.
- Other responsibilities as designated by the supervisor.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
- Current Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (or eligibility to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse school community.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a school setting.
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
